Where Blue Ridge traditions come to life

Visit the 1800 Farm at the BRIM

The Blue Ridge Farm Museum brings the region’s past to life through a recreated 1800 Virginia farmstead and offers a glimpse into the everyday lives of the people who called the Blue Ridge home more than two centuries ago.

Walk through the log farmhouse and kitchen, explore the barn, blacksmith shop, and gardens, and discover the skills and traditions that kept a farm and a family going. The Farm tells the story of a time when much of what people needed was grown, raised, built, or made by hand.

Beyond an amazing collection of historic buildings to explore, the Farm is a place to experience Blue Ridge folk heritage firsthand. Through living-history demonstrations, special programs, and hands-on experiences, the traditions preserved by the Blue Ridge Institute and Museum become something you can see, hear, and experience for yourself.

Come see what everyday life looked like more than 200 years ago!
